Head concierge in his genes

Anthony Lapébie, 31, masters the art of hospitality.

At the conciergerie of the Grand Hotel, Anthony Lapébie, aided by Patrick and Benoit, is here to assist you from morning to evening. “We welcome and look after guests the moment they arrive and are there to advise them throughout their stay. Our welcome and availability reflect the image and soul of the Grand Hotel.” From his lodge, he ensures that each client has a unique stay. “I enjoy informing guests on what there is to do both in the hotel and also in the area. The Basque country has so much to offer including an incredible number of walks, hikes, excellent restaurants, authentic villages and splendid panoramas…”.

Before arriving at the Grand Hotel in 2015, Anthony Lapébie worked in top hotels in London, Bordeaux and on the French Riviera. But his choice of professional career also stems from his personal history. “My father was head concierge at the Hotel du Palais in Biarritz. He taught me what hospitality means. He would always say to me: Be happy and it will rub off on the clients''. A piece of advice that he adheres to faithfully. Since 2017, the much sought-after “Clefs d’Or” shine on the lapel of his uniform, the highest award for concierges in France.
